I have always been a tomboy. I'd rather put on jeans, t-shirt with tennis shoes and call it a day. Recently, I realized how much I've changed. Don't get me wrong, the changes are good. I started to embrace this change and growth within me. I am more in tune with my feelings and I allow myself to show them more often. By doing so, I got in touch with my feminine side and started to pay more attention how I look, care for my skin, my wellbeing, my friendships and my spirituality. I left the I can-do-it-all-by-myself attitude out the door, allowed myself to be vulnerable and let my intuition guide me in my daily life and my entrepreneurship.

And guess what? The results have been astounding. I started to notice opportunities all around me and I approach them form a different perspective. If something doesn't challenge me or stretch my comfort zone, then I know to re-evaluate the situation. I am a woman full of passion, who is not afraid to show it and spread it around like confetti.  I hope you will never be afraid of change. This is a new chapter in my life and I can't wait to share more of it as I grow, and become the woman I never imagined I would be.

With that being said, don't ever be afraid to change up your closet and try new things!

In this post I'm featuring denim on denim trend. There are some tricks involved when conquering this style, but don't worry, you'll learn them quickly with my help.

If you follow these rules, you can never go wrong pairing your favorite denim pieces.

1. Wear different shades of denim. Preferably darker on the bottom and lighter on top, as I'm wearing in this post. Doing so, you will achieve slimming effect. Or at least let denim be one shade off from each other.

I paired up a dark A-line denim skirt (shape is very flattering) with an oversized lighter wash patch denim jacket from SheIn

2. Don't overdue it. Meaning, stick to 2-3 denim pieces per outfit. Stay away from accessorizing with denim, your shoes, purses or hats. You don't want to look like a X-mas denim tree!

3. Make it fun and interesting. Patches for example, are a great way of accessorizing and making your denim stand out and look unique. You can purchase many already patched up denim jeans, shirts or jackets. You can also do it yourself, by purchasing the patches you like and sewing them on a jacket you otherwise wouldn't wear. Find one at your local thrift shop and give it a new life. Or like me, I got my patch jacket from SheIn and it's a steal. It already came with some patches, but knowing myself, I will be adding more of them to it soon. Love the jacket and how it just goes with any outfit.

Of course, I had to finish this look with comfy Adidas Originals Stan Smith's and a classic Levi's tee. Because, who says feminine and tomboyish side can't get along?

Love,

Marlena, Style Your Passion (or inner tomboy)
